“Just because a mining camp is quieter,
it doesn’t mean you sleep any better.”

A bed cuddles darkness
effortlessly. Fatigue
grabbing hold, I join-in kindly
lowering my neck
over pillows; quietly
resting swollen toes
until virtually weightless.
X yawns, zonked.
