The sin of lust corrodes the soul,
Or so Roman Catholic theology says.
For it prevents one from being whole,
Causing trouble to keep one’s sexual urges at bay.

The pleasures of lust have seduced many,
Like burning embers suddenly reignited.
Society has made sex a taboo subject thus, the practitioners of lust are plenty,
Allowing the urges, once dormant, to be satisfied.

To overcome lust, one has to practice chastity,
But does it keep the burning desire for the flesh under control?
For doing so would definitely require an ample amount of self-mastery,
Thus, failure to control one’s lust, one shall fall into a black hole.

To battle against the angel of lust would require Herculean inner strength,
Thus, to not succumb to the lure of lust, one should go to any length.
