Under the Weight of Summer Air

Poetry Contest: Summer Songs

Photo by Luke Porter on Unsplash

watching as thunderclouds roll by
in the cavernous expanse of the evening sky.

The thirsty branches of the parch-ed trees
reach up to the roiling grey canopy
as birds seeking shelter pass by in flurries.
