Undo my past

I wish I could say I only made the wisest choices when I was young.
But I’d be lying if I said the kindest words always rolled off my tongue.
Life offered me no U-turns when I made my mistakes,
I learned it’s ok to stumble as long as you don’t break

Sometimes, you have to let love burn away your hate
Use your inner calmness to battle the rage you create
Pour gratitude into your heart to stop the complaining
Use hope as an umbrella when the negativity is raining

We can’t erase mistakes, so breathe and turn a new page
Failure is never deep enough to stop your turn on the stage.
We can’t undo the past, but we can craft a better tomorrow,
By accepting some sorrows and bad habits, we will outgrow

Mistakes and regrets are the chains that keep us from bliss.
They keep us from the opportunities we don’t want to miss.
You may think your golden hour is over, but it’s never too late.
Look to the sky and remember there are new chapters to create.
