Western Smog

A poem

Bleak dark smoky room
Feminine wails and screams of holy terror
Make my soul shudder and fume
Large stone covering a door

Push with all my might
Wondering where my brothers are
For there are none on sight
Toil in the pure heat and sun
Sweat but, by sunset, the stone is moved

Exhausted to the bone
Hear louder screams
Anger rises up
Take my ax
Batter the door down

Throw it open
Smoke rips my eyes
Rush in
Don’t care if I die

See women chained and blinded
Tears down their face
Being tormented and ridiculed
I hit the chains, but they won’t break

See the captors are men and women
Evil and vile
Besmirched faces
I stick a sword in them
But they don’t die

Hear their poisonous words
Released from their mouths
Trying to seduce me to their side
I scream; the masks leave the women’s eyes

Women, their eyes uncovered
Begging to be released
Some worried that my soul will be corrupted
To be like those beasts

Set down my sword
More fear in their eyes
Grabbed one ridiculing a woman
For being too fat, too ugly, too dumb
Tears crying down the tormented feminine soul

Grab the female torturer,
Hug her and tell her to stop,
“She is your sister, don’t do this anymore
Be beautiful, empower your sister with real love”

Something shocking happens
The fog clears from her eyes
She looks at the horror she has committed
She cries and shock overwhelms her mind

I whisper in her ear
Kiss her on the lips
Breathe my masculine love into her
“Release your sister and help me free more from this place”

Move to the next captor, a male,
Strip him from him his mighty sword
We wrestle for an hour
Naked and alone, I pin him down

Hug him hard,
“Stop my brother
Hurt these women no more,”
He tries to persuade me
Thinking he can contaminate my soul
Little does he realize love unlocks his heart

He gasps,
“I am not for you,” I say,
“I am for these captured women.
Now free yourself and your male lover,
He is on this wall to be released”

The three of us work hard
I kiss each woman and speak with my tongue
To each man, I give them my platonic love
After my last kiss, I collapse too exhausted to move

Morning rises
I wake in a camp with laughter and cheer
Two of the most beautiful women I’ve ever seen
Holding me to their bosom
Shielding me from all fears.

We are here to recharge your masculine soul
With our pure feminine love
Rest now and be whole
You will be free to our male warrior of love.
