When Looking for Love

A poem on transforming longing.

(Image: JPlenio on Pixabay)

When you find yourself
looking for love,
for next best thing
never arriving —
rather just be
exactly this shape
perfectly landing.

Rather than looking
for love,
be in love.
See the ways you already are
now, within love
in this beauty-drenched world
play, delight
savoring each taste,
fully arrived.

Be in love
here in this place,
even when longing
for more or different.
Lean long
into this yearning
let it become
light shining
into wide orbit:
not seeking,
residing in love—
giving forth
what you most need,
what is also most needed
bringing grace to this world
with your own

Come and share with us your inner song
