Writing is my voice

A poem on why I write

When I speak, no one listens
Living in a world without a voice
Things can get so lonely
How can I find my voice
When no one gives me a chance
I have so much to say
So many things I would love to share
But how can I make people hear me?

If I yell into the void
No one will ever hear
I shall get no reply
Nothing will change
Screaming louder will not help
I’d just tire faster
Then how will I be heard?

But if I write, people will see
I can share my thoughts
I can set them free
Hear my words as I type
Learn my story as you read
I have found my voice
A way to form connections
But you, my reader
Are you actually paying attention?
