Our first investors’ pitch in New York

Here is the text of the first three-minute pitch I’ve written for iPressLIVE. We’ll publish the new Platform within the next few days. A new value proposition, a long story.

Dreams can come true if you read a lot and follow your passions.

I’ve been an avid reader since I was a child.

The first time I heard of someone who wanted to sell books around the world from Seattle was in 1995.

It was Jeff Bezos: I started reading everything about him and the Internet. And now? I’ve met with him twice, during two of his visits to Italy, and have been working for his company for over 10 years: I’ve founded a PR agency, Mirandola Comunicazione, and a startup, iPressLIVE, in Italy.

Since back then, I’ve only had one mission:

to show people how the Internet can improve their lives, if you have a thorough knowledge of how it works. If you don’t, there is a risk that your life will become worse, not better.

It looks like something is wrong with the Internet. There is too much junk around.

If we consider that more than 2 million stories are published every day on the Web, and add blog posts to the picture, we’re talking about nearly 3 million releases!
According to UNESCO, approximately 2,000,000 books are published every year, more than 5.000 each day. Of course, the number is lower for every language, but it’s still a huge amount. According to an article released a while ago by TechCrunch Onion “There is a New Book On Amazon Every Five Minutes”.

Information is power but if it’s too much, it isn’t power. It’s a mess!

According to a research by McKinsey Global Inst, which also goes back to a while ago, people who work in the communication field spend upwards of 28 percent of their workday managing emails and 19 percent of it gathering information.

This means that we spend 50% of our time sifting junk, deciding what is relevant to us and what isn’t! Is this really how we want to use our time?
Our platform can help you lower that percentage, so you can use the extra time for things that are more meaningful for you and your life.

iPress is a technological platform that helps busy managers and executives to keep track of emerging trends in their industry, pinpointing information that will help them make informed decisions and get in touch with the most powerful people in their sector, outside of the social media bubble: digital content is not our only source, we also filter books, newspapers, magazines, radios and TV broadcasters.

iPress is a Reading as a Service platform.

We’ve mapped all the available Italian sources and are doing the same with US sources and international ones. We are in NY to speed up this process: we’re starting to sell our services to US managers and are looking for funding.

Every day, we’re very busy and have to do everything quickly, so relevant information can change the way we live, think and decide. We are what we read. We are what we decide!

Thank you.
