Ode to my Teachers!
This Teacher’s Day, I dedicate this poem to all my teachers who have played a significant role in my life to build up my career and help me strive where I am today.
With a black slate and a piece of chalk,
I walked into the corridors.
My sweat clinched feast
And a pinch of disquiet.
With this started my itinerary
Of the school days memory,
With a bag behind my shoulders
That hardly I could bear.
There she came,
Asked me my name.
With a startled voice
I replied, Leave me in my residence.
She grasped me in her arms
And gave me a candy,
And I went to school from then
In lure of that sweet dainty.
Gradually she taught me letters
And that would bring me tears
But little did I know then
It was the fundamental of the universe!
Then came the subjects
Math, science, and intellects
But with much ease and lucidity
She helped me learn with jollity.
Today is the time
To dedicate this paean
For holding my hand
And showing me the world.
