It is easy to assume that the genres of video games we enjoy remain stable and unchanging. There are action, adventure, RPG, sports, shooters, etc. However, and often in response to available technology, new genres can and do appear. With the popularity of smartphone gaming, a new format has emerged, which is growing in popularity at an impressive rate.
Merge games are the perfect example of this phenomenon. The basic premise of these games is striking in its simplicity: merge games require players to combine objects in order to unlock new ones. Merging items allows one to advance in the game, and often rewards players with coins, treasures, or special items within the game. However, the amount of imagination and options that can be integrated into the presentation and gameplay is vast.

MetaMerge is a merge game based on Solana. It is filled with magical creatures, fascinating plants, and legendary characters for you to discover. Players act as the land’s ‘Masters’ where they can build their own islands, explore the beauty of the magical world and earn rewards (which come in the form of NFTs, as well as the native $MTM and $MWA tokens).
The first of its kind, MetaMerge is a hybrid of traditional, mobile and Web3 gaming all rolled into one. Their vision is to help normalize blockchain gaming in the broader culture, bringing earning and networking value to those who already enjoy gaming on their smartphones.
MetaMerge brings players the addictive merge gameplay that they know and love, combining it with a strategic PvP battle mode. There is also an added layer of competition, since players can visit other islands and decide either to help or to steal from them. Have they forgotten to harvest their valuable crops? Perhaps they are ripe for the taking.
Aside from offering users entertainment and earnings, MetaMerge also provides players with collections of NFT characters, creatures, animals, plants, buildings, lands, among other items. Players can upgrade their NFT stats with in-game tokens. These items can be sold or traded to other players.

IQ Protocol allows for NFT renting without collateral and without risk? How does that work?
On IQ Protocol, rental agreements are based upon a pre-arranged amount of time and for an agreed-upon price, benefiting both parties involved. Traditional staking is often based on inflationary mechanisms to provide interest; renting out your NFTs is tied to specific utility for the NFT creating a more sustainable economic model, with renters gaining access to the represented utility of the asset.
IQ Protocol’s model for NFT lending and borrowing is built to be risk-free. Instead of giving the original asset to the borrower, IQ Protocol mints an expirable version of the NFT (which contains all of the unique features and metadata of the original). This wrapped version of the NFT is then given to the borrower. Our platform secures the original NFT which is returned to the owner after the agreed-upon rental contract has expired. Now, token holders can enjoy the benefits of renting out assets that they aren’t currently using, but that they would not like to sell.
