On August 29, we officially launched the public beta of Iris, kickstarting in Manhattan and Berlin, Germany. We’re completely overwhelmed with the reception from the community, and couldn’t be more proud to have built a product that has the potential to truly aid those in emergencies around the world.

Based on requests and inquiries we’ve gotten since launch day, we’re thrilled to announce that Iris is now available in Houston, San Francisco, Montreal, Vancouver, Toronto, Calgary, Ottawa, and London!

It’s been an incredible couple weeks, and we’ve received love and support from all directions — social media, press, and friends alike.

We’ve also recieved a ton of awesome feedback, mostly from folks recognizing the need for Iris in their city. The launch of Iris coincided with one too many hurricanes, so the team kicked into gear to make sure Iris became available for the victims and their loved ones. This type of emergency scenario is exactly the type of situation Iris was created to aid and improve.

We’re picking up momentum and we’re on track to expand to cities across the world as fast as we possibly can. With an aim to become available in a handful of cities each week, we knew it would be difficult given we also need to focus on building the product and company simultaneously. Within hours of launch, however, we not only received a ton of requests for cities to tackle next, but so many of you have offered to lend a helping hand in doing whatever necessary to see those launches through (we’re so grateful!). What better than to connect with the community and work together than in the pursuit of helping others?

Now to the good news: as of today, helping us out is easy as cake! And everyone loves cake. 🍰

Do you want Iris in your city and are interested in helping us out? Fill out this form with your contact information and we’ll get in touch with the next steps! We definitely want to add cities affected by the recent Hurricane Irma and want to prep for Jose, so if you’re able to help out there too, let us know.

It’s important for us to point out that our goal is to learn from each city addition, and eventually have the tools and information necessary to service cities with poor infrastructure to truly help where there isn’t an abundance of emergency services. With your help, we think we can do just that, and much quicker than alone. At this given moment, there may be some cities that we won’t be able to confidently add just yet. We still want to track cities of interest, though, so please keep sending them in!

This has been an incredible couple weeks for Iris. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for an amazing launch and for the unrelenting wave of interest and support. Let’s get to work!

💙 Team Iris
