In March 2019, Cosmos Hub and IRISnet Hub both launched, which opens up a new era of interchain ecosystem. On the afternoon of March 31, Cosmos & IRISnet Mainnet Launch Party was held in Shanghai, with guests including validators, developers, fundraising supporters as well as industry leaders. Waiting For the Guests’ Arrival
Opening Speech: CEO of Wanxiang Blockchain，Xiao Feng
Dr.Xiao Feng, Chairman of Wanxiang Blockchain, one of the most influential thought leaders in China Blockchain space, delivered opening speech for this memorable event.
Dr. Xiao Feng spoke highly of the new value that Cosmos and IRISnet bring to the industry. He believed the technology behind Cosmos may reshape the blockchain world in 2019. He also put forward some observations on the future development of the blockchain industry that was widely reported by the major Chinese blockchain media, including 8BTC.
1. 2019 marks the milestone that technical issues such as TPS are not longer a concern. Blockchain needs to focus on real use cases and addresses the application level of user requirements.
2. From 2019, there are more players from traditional enterprise focused (e.g JP Morgan) or consumer focused (e.g Facebook) business entered blockchain arena. There will be an explosive growth when the users volume reaches 500 million.
3. We entered an era that we no longer just discuss blockchain as a technlogy , instead we need to address how to use blockchain technology.
5-years journey of Cosmos/Tendermint devleopment and Cosmos China — IRISnet
The Chief of Staff & Head of Developer Relations of Cosmos/Tendermint — — Jin Kwon attended the party and shared the 5-years journey from Tendermint to Cosmos, also the Cosmos China development in collaboration with IRISnet.
New Values of IRISnet to the Interchain Ecosystem
The relationship of Cosmos & IRISnet: IRISnet is a joint effort between dev teams. It is also another project supported by ICF. Cosmos Hub and IRIS Hub will collaborate to enhance the security and diversity of interchain ecosystem.
He then shared the IRISnet iService, also used BEAN as an example to show how iService can be used to build complicated distributed business applications.
Validators’ Panel：Technical Times
The validators have witnessed the whole iteration from the testnets to the successful launch of mainnet. Here is the fervent dicussion among validators Hash Quark, Forbole, Liang Ping, Neo and MYKEY holding around security, decentralization, expectation to new network functions to Cosmos and IRISnet.
