IRISnet (a.k.a IRIS Hub) is designed to be the foundation for the next-generation distributed applications. Built with Cosmos-SDK, IRIS Hub enables cross-chain interoperability through a unified service model, while providing a variety of modules to support DeFi applications. TL;DR

Irishub Querier error msg is fixed, HTLC secret and hash lock encoding are refactored, service definition and binding are refactored;
Rainbow v2.9.0 is released, IRIS red packet (a.k.a.red packet) function is added to Rainbow;
IRISnet volunteers, validators and core team members gave Hongbao to the community on Chinese New Year;
2020.1.13–1.26, IRISnet organized and participated in 4 online events, namely Rainbow red packet surprise, interview by Suanlizhiku, sharing session by Zhongguancun Big Data Industry Alliance, and Cosmos VS Polkadot Debate.

Technical Updates

Irishub Software

Querier error msg is fixed;
HTLC secret and hash lock encoding are refactored;
Service definition and binding are refactored, protobuf with JSON Schema is replaced;
The liquidity of the coinswap pool is stored by using key-value instead of account.

Rainbow Wallet

Rainbow v2.9.0 is under development and test. Users can use IRIS red packet function to send and receive Hongbao.
Rainbow v2.9.0 is released. Users can follow the tutorial to manage their red packets and get a surprise.

Interview with IRISnet Research Director Jeffrey by Slibrary

Jeffrey, Director of IRISnet, was invited by a chinese media platform “Suanlizhiku” to talk about the development of cross-chain technology and ecosystem in 2019 and how it’s gonna be in 2020.

Online Sharing by Zhongguancun Big Data Industry Alliance

Jeffrey, IRISnet research director, was invited to participate in the online sharing “Detailed Explanation & Latest Dev of Blockchain Cross-chain Technology” held by Zhongguancun Big Data Industry Alliance. In this activity, Jeffrey mainly introduced the overview of cross-chain technology, the current mainstream cross-chain technology and its principle. He also answered the questions from the audience.

Cosmos VS Polkadot Online Debate

Yelong Zhang, core developer of IRISnet & Cosmos Chinese community, was invited to participate in the Cosmos and Polkadot online debate on “Who is the King of Cross-chain in 2020”. The guests included Xiliang Chen, partner of Laminar, Jiazhi Jiang, Chief Developer of CoinEx Chain, Shawn, core member of Polkabase community, and Long Wen from CoinEx Chain. The two sides debated on how to define cross-chain, who is the best layer between cosmos SDK and substrate, who is stronger in ecosystem building, etc.

IRISnet Volunteers, Validators & Core Team Members Gave Hongbao to the Community on Chinese New Year

Thanks to IRISnet volunteers and validators, including Jack Lin, Ping.pub, Real Satoshi, MeleaTrust, Cypher Core, Yunzhongsuilu, etc. for giving Hongbao to the community on Chinese New Year. IRISnet core team members also gave Hongbao to the community on that day.

In Chinese and other East Asian and Southeast Asian societies, a Hongbao is a monetary gift which is given during holidays or special occasions such as weddings, graduation or the birth of a baby. Giving red packets during the Chinese New Year is meant to bring good luck, health, and happiness. We want to give you the same blessing!
