The TIBC protocol and enhanced NFT features have finally landed with the smooth mainnet upgrade to IRIS Hub 1.2, putting the network on the fast track to becoming the NFT Hub, which communicates public chains and consortium chains and better supports business applications and use cases, especially in terms of cross-chain NFT and the trustworthy global trade of digital/digitized artworks.

⭐ Ecosystem Updates ⭐
TIBC Protocol Has Landed!
TIBC is the Terse Inter-Blockchain Communication protocol designed and built by Bianjie on the conceptual basis of the IBC protocol. TIBC reduced the complexity of cross-chain connections and facilitated the extension of cross-chain abilities to support cross-chain NFT, cross-chain smart contracts, and cross-chain services.
Before its integration to IRIS Hub, Bug Bounty Program IV was held to make the upgraded network remain stable and robust. On November 15, TIBC, together with enhanced NFT features, became available on IRISnet mainnet 1.2. The integration will increase the utility rate of IRISnet mainnet, and bring more applications & use cases for the Internet of Values!
IRISnet Mainnet Has Been Successfully Upgraded to 1.2!
On November 3, we’ve released the IRIS Hub 1.2 Upgrade Pre-Announcement, followed by the submission of upgrade proposal #8, which outlined the upgrade’s overall plan. Thanks for the continuous supports from our community, especially validators, the upgrade was completed smoothly on November 15 at around 4:30:00 UTC.
This upgrade is to enable the TIBC protocol and enhance NFT features, both facilitating the needs of building the next generation of distributed business applications and use cases. With these game-changing new features going live, the IRIS Hub 1.2 will soon become the NFT Hub communicating public and consortium blockchains, as well as supporting various business scenarios, including cross-border trade of digital/digitized artwork, and bring us closer to the realization of the Internet of Values.

⭐ Community Updates ⭐
The 7th Execution | Eco-development Funds Community Management Plan
In April 2021, the IRIS Foundation launched a new Ecosystem Development Program, which included the Eco-Development Funds Community Management Plan. The Foundation will undelegate about 300 million IRIS gradually, and then put these assets into the Community Pool in batches.
All assets in the community pool can be co-managed by the whole community for boosting the ecosystem through submitting on-chain governance proposals.
The 7th execution of this plan has been completed by the end of October.

IRIS Hub 1.2 Upgrade Proposal #8 Has Passed!
The IRISnet mainnet 1.2 upgrade proposal was submitted and opened for voting on November 3, and passed on November 13 with over 99% of participated validators voting “yes”. On November 15 at around 4:30:00 UTC, the mainnet 1.2 upgrade was successfully completed.

HackAtom VI is Live!
The biggest HackAtom in Cosmos history has arrived! HackAtom VI, sponsored by Cosmos projects such as Starport, IRISnet, ixo, and others, allows developers from all over the world to compete for their shares of the massive prize pool by participating in Cosmos innovative projects.
Registration for this event began on October 27, and the official opening ceremony took place on November 11 in Lisbon, Portugal.
