How Do We Clear Our Karma?

What is karma really about? And can it be cleared within a lifetime?

The deeper into my spiritual journey I go, the more complex my experience of concepts like karma, destiny, and free will becomes. I know I won’t be able to cover a topic as dynamic as karma comprehensively in a short article, but I hope that this exploration can serve to support anyone who feels the impact of karma in their life consciously — anyone who, frankly, doesn’t know how to get off the karmic struggle bus.

What Is Karma to Me?

For me, at this point in my evolution, karma can be broken down into four categories: family karma, ancestral karma, past-life karma, and collective karma (the last of which can encompass all the others). I’ve come to see karma as an energetic residue that we need to balance, integrate, clear, or resolve.

Working through karma isn’t always a painful experience, but it does frequently manifest that way because we don’t often need resolution for peaceful experiences.

I’m not saying all suffering is karmic. Sometimes we suffer because life is just hard. But repetitive themes, cycles, struggles that arise over and over again are generally karmic lessons.
