In the past year, Bundlr has achieved many milestones. We’ve raised a $5.2 million dollar seed round, integrated with leading companies such as Metaplex and SolSea, reached over 260,000,000 transactions, and so much more.

Our goal is simple, to make Web3 data storage on Arweave as fast and easy as traditional data storage.

What is Web3 data storage? It is a solution that stores data on a decentralized and immutable environment, such as a blockchain. While many blockchains such as Ethereum have these traits, they were not created for data storage. If one were to try to store data other than transactions on Ethereum it would be extremely complex and expensive. Arweave was created specifically for data storage.

Arweave is a blockchain created for permanent, decentralized data storage. Users can store smart contracts, NFTs, videos, articles, tweets, documents, and so much more forever on Arweave for a one-time fee. The data will never be edited, deleted, or corrupted. It is simply preserved forever.

Bundlr was created to scale this technology to the masses by making it faster, easier to use, and multichain, all while still maintaining decentralization. While we’ve achieved speed, ease of use, and multichain compatibility, we have not yet launched our network, which will allow for decentralization.

This is an important goal for the team. We believe in the benefits decentralization offers to its users. It provides a trustless environment, is extremely secure, and upholds the ethos of Web3. Today, we are thrilled to announce a major milestone in our company’s history that serves as our next step in achieving decentralization.

On July 13th, we will be launching Bundlr’s testnet.

What does this mean?

Bundlr is a network. One of the steps we must take in order to launch our public network that can be used by anyone is to test it beforehand. When Bundlr’s testnet is launched, it will allow the community to participate and experiment with Bundlr’s network. Anyone will be able to run a validator with test tokens and, in doing so, provide security to the network.

As our community is using the testnet, we will be able to identify any problems with the technology and other changes that need to be made. Once we’ve gathered this data, we will make the necessary changes on a new testnet which we will call Testnet II.

The community will then engage with the second testnet and once again, will identify any issues with the network. We will keep repeating this process until we have an incentivized testnet, and eventually a mainnet.

Testing the network before launching it publicly allows us to ensure that our future mainnet works as seamlessly as possible.

What does Bundlr’s network look like?

Bundlr is a Proof-of-Stake network that sits on top of Arweave. Approximately every day validators are randomly chosen to run the network.

The validators are in charge of making sure the transactions are moved from Bundlr’s network onto Arweave within a certain amount of time.

Once a transaction is put on Bundlr’s network and confirmed as valid, it will receive 3 signatures from validators on the network. This signature means that those validators will ensure that the transaction moves from Bundlr’s network onto Arweave.

How do I get involved?

Between now and July 13th we will be releasing more information that teaches you how to participate in our testnet. You can also apply to be an Ambassador, who are community leaders helping Bundlr grow awareness.
