July 11, 2016 — San Francisco, CA

I sit and watch. Because we all should watch.

July 5, 2016 — Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Alton Stirling is shot dead on the ground after being taken down by two police officers. Alton was selling CDs outside a convenience store.

July 6, 2016 — Falcon Heights, Minnesota. Philando Castile is shot dead in his car by a police officer after being pulled over for a broken tail light. His girlfriend live streams the aftermath on Facebook.

July 7, 2016 — Dallas, Texas. Four police officers and one city official are killed by a sniper at a Black Lives Matter rally. The shooter was black, the officers were white.

Protests have ensued. Streets have been blocked by demonstrators in Atlanta, Chicago, Baton Rouge, St. Paul, LA, Phoenix and Rochester. More than three hundred have been arrested nationwide.

July 8, 2016 — The Bahamas issues a travel warning for those planning on entering the United States: “In particular young males are asked to exercise extreme caution in affected cities in their interactions with police. Do not be confrontational and cooperate.”

Bahrain, the UAE, and New Zealand have issued similar warnings.
