DC has been releasing three to four Animated movies every year and Batman Bad Blood is the first for 2016. Some of those movies are really good and unfortunately this is not one of them.

The first half of the film is really great. After a routine patrol of the Gotham City, Batman is faced with a bunch of villains lead by an unknown enemy. After that fight, Bruce Wayne mysteriously disappears. Alfred covers for him at the Wayne Enterprises and Dick Grayson dawns the Dark Knight’s suit. Damien(Who is not annoying this time) joins him for the fight to find his father. Batman is absent for most part of the film, but there’s a good number of new heroes who rise up in his absence. Along with the heroes, there is a wide variety of new villains who are lead by a mysterious masked man who’s identity is revealed way too early in the film which is disappointing.

DC has perfected their process of making animated movies. The voice casting and Animation is perfect like always. This one feels darker than the previous films which is a welcoming move. But, the film has failed completely with it’s story and characterisation. With too many new heroes and villains, there is just not enough time to develop any of the characters. There is not a lot of story to it too. You know the movie is bad after just watching it for 10 minutes.

Overall, it is good to see a lot of new characters, but even a movie as small as this can get boring because of it’s bad direction. Only reason to watch this one is if you’ve been watching all DC films and you wouldn’t want to miss any.
