Ten years is a long time for anything and Star Wars is a franchise which has been around for 30 years now. After the disappointing trilogy of Episode 1,2,3 Disney agreed to buy Lucasfilm for $4 Billion which right now is a steal! With Star Wars in their hand, Disney decided to reboot the Star Wars franchise with another trilogy. The movie has already blown up beating several records to become the fastest film to cross $1 Billion in Box Office. The movie had the biggest opening weekend without releasing in India and China, which is 1/3rd of the Earth’s population.

To start with, The Force Awakens is a perfect fusion of Old and New. It feels like home for every Star Wars fan and I cannot think of any other way the movie could’ve gone. It was just perfect!

I am a huge Star Trek fan and it has always been Star Wars Vs. Star Trek. So I chose Star Trek and decided to hate Star Wars. Last Christmas, my friend gifted me the Complete Star Wars Box Set instead of Star Trek. Back then, I had some time and I decided, why not give it another shot. This time, I absolutely loved it and realised both Star Wars and Star Trek are very unique in their own ways and I can love them both at the same time. Ever since, I’ve watched the first 6 parts multiple times patiently waiting for The Force Awakens.

The most disappointing part of the movie was that it released one week after rest of the world. I could not stay away from the internet for one whole week, but people really understand Star Wars and respect others. I would like to thank everyone for that. Not once did I bump into a spoiler the whole week. Back to the problem, Disney India did not release Star Wars(Biggest Movie of the Year) because they felt it could not compete with a couple of Cliché Bollywood films. Seriously, Disney India should get to their senses. We were really hoping to experience Star Wars the same day as rest of the world.

Back to the actual review, it is a perfect balance of everything. It is really fun, makes you laugh and even made me cry once, the first time I saw. Watching Harrison Ford alone was worth everything! Watching him back in Star Wars and inside Millennium Falcon felt amazing. Performance of characters never fell short. Both Daisy Redley and John Boyega (The guy’s not an extra!) were just perfect! Kylo Ren, whom I expected to be as intimidating as Darth Vader fell really short. I hope this is just the start for that character. They even managed to bring in so many different emotions to the robot, BB-8 which does not even have a proper face!

Daisy Ridley who performs the protagonist of the film was really good. Usually in movies, when a girl is portrayed as the protagonist of the film, they show her as a badass with a lot of weird and annoying things. But in this one, they start by showing an average girl who discovers her place in the Universe, coming back to the original concept of Star Wars: ‘Anyone can be destined for great things.’

The direction by JJ Abrams was good and he stuck to the script. He’s the only guy to have directed both Star Wars and Star Trek! His unique way of portraying certain things can be felt throughout the film. He also co-wrote the story which is probably the best part of the film. It might feel like Star Wars Episode IV, but different and refreshing in every way. You have to watch the film to understand it’s brilliance.
The Force Awakens is a high budget film and no corners were cut. Watching the film on IMAX, it is apparent that a lot of work has been put into every detail and the special effects. The locations and sets were also really good.
The most important thing I look forward to in a film is it’s Music and the music in this was unbelievably good! The music can really bring out your emotions and pump that adrenaline of yours setting the tone of the film.

At the time of writing this review, I’d already watched the film thrice and I intend to watch it a few more times. This movie deserves everything and this is the prefect Star Wars film we’ve been waiting for after the original trilogy. If you haven’t watched it, you should definitely watch it and if you’ve watched it, just watch it again!
