What happened at #ISDEV2017 Hackathon?
The ISDEV2017 Hackathon, which was organized by @brindocorp went down on the 24th of August 2017 through the 26th of August 2017, with lots of activities with awesome technology innovations.
It was a solution-driven 3-days event during which the participants teamed up to build smart applications which according to the theme was for the future.
Presenting at the event was Mr Femi TAIWO who took us through the journey of building smart applications for the future, he also outlined the need for smart applications in today’s world. You can visit this link to view the slides https://speakerdeck.com/dftaiwo/building-smart-apps-for-the-future
And also we had our wonder woman Ada Nduka Oyom discuss building the tech ecosystem in Nigeria, by actively supporting the community, as she encourages participants to make use of meetup opportunities instead of focusing on swags and shirts…
At the end of the event, the participants came up with innovations that were highly impressive despite the time frame being just 72 hours.
The attendees explored various technologies which included various APIs that aids deep learning programs. The innovations spanned across the food industry, education, media and other awesome ideas which were implemented.
Attendees were arranged in teams and are expected came up with an idea and were set to implement them within a 64hours. Group E (@amarya) emerge as the winner of the hackathon, as they came up with a food cooking tutor. Check out https://whizkydee.github.io/amarya-bot/
Fun activities were not left out as the event included gaming and a networking session.
A training session was also put in place to help newbies get involved with tech by training to become skilful in ethical hacking and web development.
ISDEV2017 HACKATHON brought close three hundred candidates from major places in Nigeria like Enugu, Delta, Akure, etc. Eighty per cent of these finished through with the event and sixty per cent of these went home with at least a price.
