Capital, and its founding father, capitalism — has become a dirty word, receiving a reputation for being extractive, resulting in negative exploitation and harming the environment and society as a whole.

As a Pan-African company, our role and desire is to move the African continent to greater development, contributing to the growth, prosperity and raising out of poverty our people. We do this in businesses we get in involved and in our advocacy of those we do not get involved in but share similar ethos as to us. Now this movement is referred to as Africapitalism.

This is an ideology and the economic philosophy that aims to transform the continent through long-term investments, creating both economic prosperity and social wealth.
As custodians of both the capital we receive from our Limited Partners and of the Intellectual Property and Ventures of the entrepreneurs we serve, our focus is to use capital to give greater access, shift perceptions and increase participation.
Improving humanity through shared ideals and partnership, while helping to create prosperity through increased access of needed services and products for consumers, the creation of job opportunities of the ventures offering these products or services.

Whether we like it or not, capital allocators are exercising their own world view with each and every investment that they make.
We need more counter-weights or contra-world views to traditional capital allocators, allowing for more progressive world views.
World views shared by a more diverse pool of managers in the ecosystem.

Managers that will allocate capital to a new and wide range of participants and entrepreneurs, that will solve critical challenges not identified by traditional entrepreneurs and capital allocators in South Africa and Africa as a whole.

Capital allows for ideas to disseminate faster, effectively and widely — suggesting that, used with intent, can be the catalyst for improved change and prosperity for communities, economies and the African continent as a whole.
