Latino Representation in U.S. Media

I have been researching different studies on media images and statistics that suggest that Latino representation in U.S. is very narrow-windowed and only perpetuates negative stereotypes that depict Latinos as either criminals, immigrants, or exotic, sexual objects. Here are some digital illustrations and graphics that capture my findings.

Definition of Latino Media Gap.

Antonio Zambrano-Montes was a victim whom was killed while surrendering, however media focus on other cases pertaining to Black-police brutality became more the central target of discussion in popular news.

There are no Latino representatives for United Ways Bank in Santa Barbara.

These words and figures are what define the current Latin@ population, focusing primarily on demeaning or sexual content.

What about Latinos in the art realm?

Imitating popular art I wanted to include the discussion of Latinos represented in popular art which tends to focus on White, male-produced works.
