Lost

A Letter From Isolation #8

Isolation is a reminder that this is a place to call my own.

Aging is not lost youth but a new stage of opportunity and strength.” — Betty Friedan

These letters go out on the 30th of every month (or a little later) and recap the prior month of poetry. As with all of my newsletters, all links in them are friend links, so that anyone can read them for free. Also, the text is just a preview of the full poem. Click the link to read the whole thing.

The poems will be grouped by month for now on the publication page, but soon I will begin to create some personal collections. It feels nice to have a place to call my own. Thank you for reading.

Lost inside myself,
a blurred image
resonates with
the foreboding
feeling that I
might just find
my inner self
on a long walk
of straight beach
in the same spot
I left her

Highlighted Poems From the Past Month

Off Track

Sometimes off track is just what you need
to find a new track, one untrodden
by other feet and replicated toes
Sometimes I want to go back there

The Sound of Sorrow

The sound of sorrow is silence
a gaping hole in my heart
that breathes no air
and speaks no words
but just sits with itself
until the end of time

A Highlight From the Past

Peel Me Back

Peel me back
and open me up
but please, when you are done
Put me back together again
Because it’s one thing to be exposed
and another to remain that way
when the world is watching

Monthly Note

There are months I feel creatively lost. And some of those months, I also feel lost in the cyber cycle of this hard-pressed world. This past month was more busy than lost, but still, I was searching. I think I’ve found what I was looking for.
