Music: Live recorded audio Nicoel Raviv, new release

Now. Let’s get to the news.

  1. Canadian American Israeli singer Nicole Raviv performed last night in what is being billed as the Black Magic Music Festival between July 11th and 14th in the Kerem HaTeimanim, which is the Yemenite Vineyard. It’s the name of a neighborhood in Tel Aviv around the Carmel Market. The performance showcased music from Alsheikh, the traditional music center of Eastern music. Raviv, despite not speaking Arabic, learned this brand new Arabic song she wrote and produced with her instructor Ziv Yehezkel. She was amongst a few soloists, but Raviv shimmied her shoulders and raised her hands to the sky, giving the rooftop audience of around 150 chills. Many even had tears in their eyes. The festival is four days long, has 20 performances, 2 stages, and 3 workshops.
  2. The head of the Meretz party, Nitzan Horowitz, who is also Israel’s Health Minister has announced he is stepping down. Although Horowitz will not be at the forefront of the upcoming primary as the chairman, he will still be on the faction list in early November.
  3. Noa Kirel is going to represent Israel in the 2023 Eurovision song competition. The Israeli Public Broadcasting Corporation chose the mega Israeli pop star from a competitive pool of highly skilled and accomplished singers. The organization evaluates performers in a two-step committee process that has nearly 80 singers initially in the running.

A witness from the Netanyahu trial named Hadas Klein came out with a story in her criminal probe that says billionaire James Packer, who is involved with what is being called the “Illegal Gifts Affair,” took her cellphone and threw it into a pool when he got nervous about the criminal probe on former Prime Minister Netanyahu.
