Sometimes good things emerge out of catastrophes; such is the case for Marvin LeBlanc. On August 19, 2005 Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans and Marvin’s life reached a tipping point. The storm resulted in over twelve feet of water in his office and all but one of his employees was gone to assist their own families. Unable to insure all of his customers, he lost his entire income. Despite the bleak situation, Marvin chose to look beyond a situation that initially seemed hopeless. He joined the St. Bernard Citizens Recovery Commission to help his community find a new future. Ultimately, his positive attitude galvanized his re-growth in the financial industry and encouraged him to write his book Come Hell or High Water.

Although Come Hell or High Water is based on the events surrounding Hurricane Katrina, Marvin’s life prior to this disaster played an important role in his writing. For instance, his emphasis on perseverance in his book emerges from the thousands of hours spent on the field at Louisiana State University, where he had a full-student athlete scholarship. Similarly, Marvin’s ability to relate to people is seen in his writing through his engaging stories and two decades worth of experience in insurance sales. This book connects inspiring ideas about overcoming obstacles in the business world to our everyday personal lives.

Currently, Marvin works to motivate people to achieve their professional goals. He is a certified instructor on Jim Winner’s book Split Second Choice: The Power of Attitude. Marvin has created training programs and given numerous presentations on how to make the best future out of difficult situations. Both live audiences and readers enjoy Marvin’s positive approach and endless energy.
