Writer Wednesday: Eve Grodnitzky

Eve Grodnitzky holds a Ph.D. in Social Psychology and works as an author, executive educator, and professional speaker by choice. Her many talents and interests have allowed her to partner with Fortune 500 and Global 1000 corporations, while working with numerous research and consulting organizations. Her many affiliations allowed her to research and aid employees as well as managers in leadership development and performance. More recently, Dr. Grodnitzky began working on her own research on the phenomenon of insight. Click: The Art + Science of Getting from Impasse to Insight sums up Dr. Grodnitzky’s findings in a format meant to help those who have met a dead end in their professional work.

In her book, Dr. Grodnitzky goes through the seven steps of her Impasse to Insight Method, starting with the reader defining his/ her figurative roadblock and ending with the reader taking action and solving the problem. The purpose of this book is to help anyone who has lost the passion for his or her work and is now struggling with a lack of inspiration. Dr. Grodnitzky’s unconventional methods and research allowed her to work with many different types of professionals and to learn what makes the ever-so-important “ah-ha” moment happen for some and not others.

It is Dr. Grodnitzky’s belief that too many professionals have started to treat work and education as joyless toil. Whether the reason be the disenchantment that comes along with growing up or our educational and traditional corporate training systems beating the enjoyment of discovery and learning out of us, Dr. Grodnitzky feels that it is important for all professionals to find happiness in their work and to tackle tough impasses with a sense of adventure and wonder. Her research and subsequent book is her gift to the business world; Dr. Grodnitzky wants nothing more than for people to begin loving their work again and to face their problems with a “yes, I can” attitude.
