Students from Sarah Scott Middle School and Indiana State University worked together at the middle school’s All You Can Eat Fish Fry and Silent Auction in March, after a two-year pause.

On Friday, March 18, Sarah Scott Middle School resumed their annual All You Can Eat Fish Fry and Silent Auction. This social event raised money to support the school’s after-school programs.

It has been a long two years without the event where students of Indiana State University helped serve the community.

Junior Samara Cameron-Johnson worked as a drive-thru runner delivering plates of fish, baked beans, mac ’n’ cheese, pulled pork, coleslaw, and drinks to the vehicles lined up for a meal.

“I almost forgot what it felt like to be able to interact with people face-to-face. I had such a fun time talking and dancing with the kids. All at the same time, it felt great to also serve good food to the community,” she said.

Organizer Nichelle Campbell-Miller was also astonished by the event’s turnout.

“With the help of the several volunteers, we were able to send out a total of about 315 plates, an awesome comeback from being put on pause,” she said.
