It’s a data world

Data science is a world that doesn’t seem to ever stay put. In the blink of an eye dozens of open source projects are launched and companies develop new data products or solutions. Many many awesome, and exciting, meaningful or plain fun projects are shared by data enthusiasts everywhere daily.

So yes, it’s hard to keep up.

Trying to keep up with the data news flow.

Keeping up has become an art in itself. Data experts everywhere collect articles and compile digests every week to get everyone their regular data fix and make sure they stay aware of everything that’s happening in data. Keeping up with data newsletters and medias in itself has become an art.

That’s not what we want to do. We don’t want to be exhaustive and bring you the “must knows” every week. Other people do that very well.

But we do have a team of data enthusiasts, getting larger every day, who all try and stay up to date and find fun and exciting use cases for data. And they typically share a couple articles and projects a day with everyone, that they found cool; whether it’s the sale team, the developers and data scientists, or even the design crew. So we figured we might as well share these articles that stood out for us with any other data enthusiasts out there looking for clever and innovative data news each week. Nothing more, nothing less.

That’s what Banana Data is about. Selecting a few articles, just 5, and a couple projects we like, every week. Only the ones that are current, but also make us stop and think or just blow our mind by their coolness, make the cut.

Because data science is still a movement full of awesome people discussing how data will shape the future and building awesome projects and we wanted to be appart of that in our way.
