So its the last day of the year and you know what that means, every blog and website is doing their top insert number and subject here of the year. I am about to be guilty of doing the same exact thing. Lets start with Billboard’s Top 10 songs of 2015 then we will get to my personal top 10 of 2015.

BILLBOARD TOP 10 OF 2015

This list is based off of sales, as well as, streaming and social interaction on sites like Facebook. For the sake of the blog lets say these are my top 10 but they are just out of order. Its nothing but a personal preference of those ten songs, so do not read into it too much. Here’s my version:

  1. Trap Queen — Fetty Wap
  2. Blank Space — Taylor Swift
  3. Thinking Out Loud — Ed Sheeran
  4. Watch Me — Silento
  5. The Hills — The Weeknd
  6. See You Again — Wiz Khalifa ft. Charlie Puth
  7. Sugar — Maroon 5
  8. Uptown Funk — Mark Ronson ft. Bruno Mars
  9. Earned It(Fifty Shades of Grey) — The Weeknd
  10. Shut Up and Dance — Walk the Moon

Now for the fun part. My personal top 10 songs of 2015. I’m starting from 10 because its more exciting that way.

#10 Lost ft. Mickey Blue by Tritonal & Juventa

This is one of the prettier progressive house songs that came out all year. combine that with Mickey Blue’s amazing vocals and you have my number 10 rated track of the year.

#9 What Do You Mean (Alison Wonderland Remix) by Justin Bieber

This trapped out remix retains many elements of the original song that was a hit in its own right. However, the filthy drop had to put it at number 9 on the list.

#8 Slow by Lido & Halsey

This song uses a sample of Jaden Smith’s “Fast.” One of the really cool parts about it is that it flips the typical female vocalist on the chorus and a male rapper on the verses on its head. This song uses Jaden Smith’s hook (pitch shifted down) and has Halsey singing the verses. It is a beautiful track.

#7 Something Better by Audien

I had to put this song on the list. I had it on repeat forever. Lady Antebellum’s vocals complemented Audien’s style perfectly.

#6 We Won’t by Jaymes Young & Phoebe Ryan

There are a lot of talented artists featured on songs that are ignored by fans. I try not to do this especially if I really like a song. That happened with “Now or Never” by Tritonal ft. Phoebe Ryan. Occasionally I would look for more songs by her or featuring her vocals. This is how I stumbled upon this gem. It is simply a beautiful song.

#5 Walk with Me ft KUČKA by Cosmo’s Midnight

I wrote a blog about the Australian duo’s most recent EP Moments a few weeks ago. This song was on the EP even though it was released about 5 months ago. Regardless, since the first time I heard it I have had it on repeat. This Soundcloud user said it perfectly:

#4 All We Need (Autograf Remix) by ODESZA

This remix is beyond smooth. I had a lot of duplicates in my iTunes that I have been cleaning out, so I can not tell you the exact number of plays this song has. I can say the number is definitely absurdly high for any song especially one that has only been out less than a year.

#3 Back to Back by Drake

First of all RIP to Meek Mill and shout out to him for being the victim a rap beef not quite on the Pac and Biggie level, but good enough to provide some of the funniest memes to hit the internet. I cant put them all but this is hysterical.

I think he might need to phone a friend.

#2 679 by Fetty Wap ft Remy Boyz

Ok so technically this song came out in 2014 on Soundcloud and was rereleased commercially in May of this year. I debated leaving it off of the list for this reason, however, it was too big of a hit to ignore. I love the song and some of the remixes I have heard are fire. And without this song this video would not exist. Press play and enlighten your life.

#1 Pay No Mind by Madeon ft. Passion Pit

My favorite song of the year was on my favorite album of the year, Adventure. I am not the only one to praise Madeon’s album. Porter Robinson endorsed it as well.

Collaborating with Passion Pit, Madeon created a masterpiece. The vocals that only Michael Angelakos could contribute, combined with Madeon’s style of a mesh between nu-disco and electro-pop made my number one song of the year.

So thats it for 2015. Send me your list in the comment section or DM the soundsgood Instagram account @ soundsgood.co. Don’t forget you can make your own best of 2015 playlists on our website or any other to fit your needs. Happy New Year! Lets hope it brings us more great music.
