Audi Q3: bigger, more welcoming and with a brilliant 1.5 turbo
Seven years after its launch, the Audi Q3 is reborn to new life, on an unprecedented mechanical basis and with a more sporty and gritty style. Compared to the old model, the second generation of the German SUV grows 10 cm in length (now it reaches 449) and 8 cm in the wheelbase (the distance between the center of the front wheels and the rear wheels), as well as being wider and more 2 cm low. In the front, marked by bold lines, there is a large octagonal mask surrounded by a protruding frame (reminiscent of that of the larger “sister” Q8), the pointed headlights with the original step, the striking air intakes in the bumper and the light bonnet ribs. On the side you can see the wide wheel arches and the sinuous line at the base of the windows: it combines the front and rear lights, giving strength also to the side view. Even behind the personality is not lacking, thanks to the horizontal lights, thinner and connected by a rib in the lower part of the tailgate, the black band in the bumper and the two wide and flat drains. All elements that, overall, increase the feeling of width of the car.
Inside the change is remarkable. The interior of the Audi Q3 is more welcoming (although the seat at the center of the sofa remains uncomfortable, due to the cumbersome tunnel on the floor) and refined, and has a decidedly modern and technological look. A look due, in large part, to the digital instrumentation of 10.25 “or 12.3” (until recently present only on the most luxurious models), and to the sophisticated multimedia system, which allows you to connect to the Internet, updating in real time traffic information and parking available nearby. There is a Wi-Fi connection for mobile phones, tablets and computers; furthermore, through the myAudi app, you can open and close the car remotely and locate it. Well done and with a nice graphics, the dashboard center screen, 8.8 “or 10.1” (the list of options is not yet available, as well as the price of the car). The new MMI plus navigation system responds to advanced voice commands that recognize commonly used expressions. If necessary, a voice makes requests for clarification, allows for corrections, suggests alternative solutions and agrees to be interrupted while talking. In addition, navigation recognizes driver preferences based on the journeys already made, generating intelligent suggestions.
