BMW has released a new teaser dedicated to the X7. The flagship of the SUV range is now only partially visible in the frontal area, confirming what has already been seen in the last few months during the development of the prototypes. The very large double kidney and the abundant size make it unique in the panorama of the brand. The debut date has not yet been announced, but it is likely that it will take place at the Los Angeles Motor Show (from November 30th to December 9th). Like most of the BMW Sport Utility Vehicles, the X7 will also be produced at the Spartanburg plant in South Carolina. The design that is intuited by the camouflaged photos of the tests remains quite close to that of the BMW X7 Performance. So the huge grille remains a distinctive trait.
The BMW X7 is part of an unprecedented segment for the car manufacturer in question, which until now saw the X5 as the highest expression of sport utility. Born as a high-wheeler variant of the 7 Series and offers the formula of the passenger compartment seven seats in three rows, designed with an eye for the needs of the American market. The range of the powetrain should derive precisely from the 7 Series, including the electrified versions, while for the interior design should be expected elements similar to those of new generation just introduced on the fourth generation of the BMW X5. In the context of the BMW electrification strategy towards 2025, in the future, plug-in and electric hybrid versions could be offered. The SUV will be available both in rear-wheel drive and with the xDrive integral. The traditional engines will be the 3.0-liter V6 turbo and 335 horsepower and the 4.4-liter turbocharged V8 and 445 horsepower. There is also talk of a M Performance version. To push it would be the 6.6-liter VIT and 600 horsepower.
