Gaming with ITAM #03 — Space Rider

Intro

Good day everyone! Welcome back to another installment of <Gaming with ITAM>! My name is Eon, the Community and Content Manager here at ITAM Games, and today we will be going over the most recently-released game on the ITAM Store: Space Rider 🚀🚀

Background

In Space Rider, you are the rider of a futuristic motorbike, racing through the galactic world, evading obstacles and collecting points to journey back home. In this thrilling racing game, compete against users from all around the world for the highest score! Become a part of a SF-like world, speeding through the galaxy at the speed of light. How far can you go?!

Key Features

Controls

The controls of Space Rider is quite basic: Tap once to change lanes, and swipe to slide.

As mentioned above, in Space Rider, you must evade the obstacles laid out in front of you while collecting as many balls (points) as you can. To avoid the walls, tap the screen to change lanes before crashing into the obstacles. Also, there is another type of obstacle that blocks both lanes. In this case, you must slide under these hurdles by swiping the screen.

And that’s it for the controls! Quite simple, yes? You just need to go as far as you can and earn as many points before crashing.

Tickets

Another important factor of the game is “Tickets.” Each time you play, you will need to spend a ticket. These tickets are recharged every 15 minutes, and the maximum you can hold is 10. If you find that you ran out of tickets but want to continue playing, you can always purchase more with in-app purchases :)

Road Patterns and Vehicles

On the bottom of the main screen of the game, you can see 5 different icons. The first two icons are Road Patterns and Vehicles, respectively.

First, the Road Patterns are the design of the road you are racing in. These road patterns do not have key influences on the gameplay, but rather just for aesthetic purposes. Road Patterns can be unlocked as you level up.

Second, the Vehicles are the types of motorbikes you can choose to race in. Contrary to Road Patterns, the Vehicles actually do have influence over gameplay. Each time you upgrade your vehicle, the turn speed increases. This means that the higher-level bike you use, the better response-time you have in dodging the obstacles. Similar to Road Patterns, vehicles can be unlocked as you increase in levels.

Achievements & Leaderboard

Two more significant elements of Space Rider are Achievements and Leaderboard. These two features are what sets Space Rider on the ITAM Store apart from traditional versions. This is because the achievements and leaderboard of ITAM Store’s Space Rider is recorded on the blockchain.

There is one achievement available for Space Rider at the moment, which is “Unlocked!! Full Bikes.” This achievement is granted to users that acquire all 8 bikes available on Space Rider.

Furthermore, the leaderboard of Space Rider on the ITAM Store records users’ scores on the blockchain. With this data, gamers can not only compete for higher scores with users worldwide, but also transparently see their competition and competitors’ performance on the blockchain via ITAM.Market (click here).

With the data of the leaderboard, an event took place recently to induce competition amongst users. This event is now over, but a new event to further incentivize users to play is in the works! Please stay tuned for the new event :)
