You call it socialism. I call it state capitalism. Anyway, you are wrong. I highly recommend you read the article I linked to. Below is an example.

Elites using the profits from the oil industry to control democracy in Venezuela does not even come close to socialism, and it occurred before Chavez came on the scene.

And Venezuelans fleeing to its corrupt Latin neighbor, Colombia, is hardly a ringing endorsement for more neoliberalism.
