Snowden, robots and drones on speed… the highlights from CeBIT 2017.

Our top picks from the world’s biggest digital fair, CeBIT.

As a digital product agency, we get excited about the tech of the future. So we went to CeBIT to meet with the brightest minds of the industry. From genius robots to RFID implants, here are our top takeaways...

Spies are everywhere.

Edward Snowden said the ongoing collection of meta data is providing the perfect record of our private lives. From our Google searches to our online purchases, we can be tracked (and hacked) at all times. Should we be worried our microwave is spying on us? Maybe.

Robots are already smarter than us.

AI software is now detecting cancer cells, trading money, playing strategic games, and rapidly overtaking the most talented humans on the planet. Professor of Computer Science, Christian Bauckhage shared the latest robot learning in his talk:

And now we can become robots.

Inject an RFID chip into your arm and you’ll be able to open your front door, start your car, log in to your computer and pay for your shopping quite literally with the wave of your hand. Creepy or cool?

Drones, drones, drones.

From assisting with natural disasters to agricultural monitoring, these ‘multicoptors’ are attracting the attention of companies worldwide. If 2016 was all about consumer drones, 2017 is the year of the commercial drones.

IoT and driverless cars = smarter cities.

With connected devices all communicating and driverless cars needing only 1/7 the amount of parking spaces as regular cars, we’re looking at a future of much smarter cities. Saves you teaching your kids to drive!

We can live forever.

Futurist Ray Kurzweil predicts that we will be able to use technology to indefinitely prolong our life span — via medical nanorobots as extensions of our immune systems. What does that mean? Maybe time to redesign your life plan!
