Dar is the life of the party for anyone event intoverts can get something to do and enjoy in the city.

I have traveled to almost 3rd of Tanzania with my family and alone, each region I have been to has a unique experience but Dar Es Salaam has its own place in my book of experiences. By the way, I now live here so each day I have stories to share, today I will just share the general.

In the last century Dar Es Salaam has managed to evolve from a quite Zaramo fishing village to a busy modern mentropolitan city with over 6 million people and growing.

Dar is the designated city of diverse in Tanzania. It has the vibrancy of modern Africa, yet the culture, the essence and the humor of the people from all corners of Tanzania and the world is present. A mix of western, Indian, Arab, and Swahili societies ( from almost all Tanzanian tribes). The exquisite diverse of these cultures shape the electric experience full of discovery, fun, and history.

Straddling some of the most important sea routes in the world, Dar is East Africa’s second-busiest port and Tanzania’s commercial hub. Despite this, and its notorious traffic jams, the city has managed to maintain a low-key, down-to-earth feel.

No rest throughout a day, everyone is so busy and at night it is as alive as you can imagine. The way it lightens throughout the night is breathtaking, this city never sleeps, I have never witnessed that even for once. The street food, the traditional events in Swahili societies, the late-night fun, the traffic, the places to visit, fun to experience, culture to learn, Dar Es Salaam is so diverse.

You have a great deal of variety of things to do, places to go, events to attend, foods to eat, etc. Even for the most introverts, you can’t miss your tribe in Dar.

Whether it is the homemade (mama ntilie’s) chapatis or roasted maize or street junk food like chipsi mayai ( omelet) or nyama choma (grilled meat), you won’t want to miss a few meals and snacks of Dar street food. You may want to taste a locally brewed beer, I would go for Dar street coffee. The fish market and the Kariakoo market is the best place for accurate local experience when I want to go shopping.

Taking a stroll down Temple Road, you will find a selection of religious temples. Taking time along the cleanest and most unclean beaches, you can have it all.

Full of offshore islands, beaches, beautiful and fun night life, modern and local stays. Dar es Salaam is both for business travelers coming to the city to mke some cash or just adventures looking to experience this part of Tanzania.
