Another Sunday, another week of idiocy to rant about. Where to even start, though? The Nevermind album cover/naked baby lawsuit? Anti-vaxxers now refusing blood transfusions from people who’ve been vaccinated? Arsenal at the bottom of the Premier League table with zero goals scored in three matches? All of those things happened this week. I swear the news is being written by mid-1970s Stephen King with a little help from Monty Python.

Or how about the newest phenomenon sweeping social media: Twitter Puriteens. Or maybe it’s Puri-teens. However the hell you spell this non-word, it’s a mashup of Puritan and teen, made necessary by a group of kids so totally “woke” that they have gone full circle to the point of being ultra-conservative. Their beef is with any book or show that basically says anything about anything and must be cancelled. The most recent object of their ire is the unnatural selfcest relationship between Loki and Sylvie in the Disney+ series Loki.

In case you were just thinking “what the fuck are you talking about Paul? Put down the Wild Turkey and make sense,” let me explain. The online dictionary yourdictionary.com defines selfcest as “sexual activity with an alternate version of oneself, such as a clone or a version of oneself from the past…
