I hate my job. Every second I spend on soulless work, my spark disappears and a part of me shrivels up and dies.

I spend 8+ hours a day doing work that doesn’t bring me joy and has no noticeable impact on the world. There’s no room for growth. My talents are unappreciated. I barely earn enough to survive. Every self-help guru, inspirational meme, and trust fund kid I’ve ever come across tells me to love my work so that I never feel like I’m working. I’m supposed to follow my passions.

Well, my time at EnivronTech Concepts Corp, reviewing data spreadsheets and organizing office supplies does not bring me joy. As a kid, I didn’t dream of asking Betsy in IT for her latest TPS report. When people ask me what I do for a living, I find that I don’t really know the answer.

That’s why I’m taking a leap of faith. I’m going to rage quit my job tomorrow and move to an unspecified tropical island. I know I’m doing the right thing.
