Hats on Hats on Hats
(Grouping and Mapping)
Sometimes we have to wear different hats. During the workday, I’ll wear my programmer hat, sometimes my mentor hat, and sometimes my barista hat (for the break room).
Recently, I’ve had to wear a few more hats — writer, editor, voice actor. The effort from these different roles has come together into the creation of the Grouping and Mapping course.
What is Grouping and Mapping?
Why does it need a course?
Well, I suggest you put on your audience hat 😀 and grab some popcorn 🍿
In summary — There’s a lot of engineering data out there. iTwins are good at pulling all this data together. But people in different roles — such as different designers or managers — care about different parts of the data. Grouping and Mapping empowers us to filter out data relevant to each individual role.
In this course, we create groupings for procurement manager Paul, and information manager Irene. Learning from their examples, you too will be able to specialize iTwin data for your purpose.
Of course, depending on which hat you are wearing.
Now if you will excuse me . . . I need to take off my writer’s hat 📝 and once again, put on my programmer’s hat 💻
