On October 27, 2015, the Ivy Film Festival and React to Film brought a screening of “The Mask You Live In” to the Brown community. The film, which first premiered at Sundance in 2015, explores the damaging effects of hypermasculinity. Young boys have been socialized from birth to fit a narrow set of behaviors and traits that can lead to isolation, substance abuse, and depression. The film received an overwhelmingly positive response on campus.
