IFF Competition Winners 2016–17
Throughout the year, Ivy Film Festival has been holding competitions to recognize the work of student screenwriters and filmmakers. Student work is at the heart of IFF; we want to celebrate those who haven’t yet made it to the big screen. For the themed screenplay competitions, IFF releases a set of optional prompts to provide inspiration for the writing process. The 48-Hour Film Competition required that films incorporate one thing from four out of five listed categories (location, characters, props, actions, dialogue). Here are some highlights from IFF’s contests this year:
Annual Horror Screenplay Competition
First place: “Coulrophobia” by Ali Murray ‘18
Second place: “SIDS” by Rex Provost ‘18
48-Hour Film Competition
Winner: “Stall”
Second place: “No Whammies”
Annual Holiday Screenplay Competition
