1st Place Winner Georgia Wright ‘17
2nd Place Winner Blair Johnston ’17 with her script “Winging It”

The Ivy Film Festival was proud to again host its annual Rom-Com Short Screenplay Competition between the 14th-22nd of February 2016. Judged by the IFF Screenplay team, the first-place winning screenwriter was awarded $100 cash, and the second-place winner received $50 in prize money. We were impressed with the the number of students who broke out their writer’s pens and crafted heartwarming, charming, and romantic screenplays.

Congratulations to our first-place winner Georgia Wright, ’17 for her script “Pop”! In “Pop”, 16-year-old Lark, with an unstoppable gum chewing habit, participates in a bubble gum chewing contest despite her mother’s wishes and ends up falling in love with her gum-stealing cohort Will.

The second-place winner is Blair Johnston, ’17 for her script “Winging It”! In “Winging It”, while Marie’s attempts to help her friend Chelsea get back into dating may be futile and slightly wacky, they end up bringing the two women closer together in hopes of a brighter romantic future for Chelsea.

We’d also like to give an honorable mention winner Eleonora Saravalle, ’18 for her script “Keeping Up with the Kardashians”. Thank you to all of the students who submitted screenplays this year!
