Little Bits

Our team decided to create a light that automatically turns on at the sound of ones alarm.

Originally, we wanted to use IFTTT and the cloud bit to make a reliable trigger when the alarm was activated, but unfortunately, the SIM card in our bit was malfunctioning, so that was not possible. Instead, we used the sound trigger bit with the transmitter bit paired to the power outlet with the lamp.

With the light in always in the ‘on’ position, we were able to control the power received by the light fixture by pairing the transmitter to the little bits adapter.

By playing an alarm into the input (pink) bit, the output (green) bit transmitter allowed electricity to reach the light fixture.
