Sprint Update Week 30–2022

We are way overdue on giving you an update on current developments within the ixo ecosystem. Starting this week, we will publish a weekly Sprint Update and with this we look forward to keeping you in the know about software updates such as new features and releases, market deployments, user experiences, and stories from the field of how these technologies are making an impact.
ixo Launchpad
Let’s begin with the Internet of Impact Launchpad. We announced this was going live in June, but there have been some delays in achieving this milestone, which we know is frustrating, as we are all excited about the decentralised Impact Marketplaces that are launching on the Internet of Impact.
The first cohort of Impact DAOs has been ready to launch for a while and almost all have already begun experimenting with the ixo Testnet and software stack. However, we ran into some technical challenges moving the Launchpad onto main-net with the integration of the client software stack, as we have been making the transition from the legacy chain APIs to full Protobuf gRPC. This big job is now done, with the major update to the ixo Client SDK.
The Launchpad will be live in August and we also have an exciting next cohort of Impact DAOs preparing to join and launch their Impact Marketplaces on the Internet of Impact.
ixo Chain Upgrade
The ixo Testnet (Pandora-5) has successfully been upgraded to Cosmos SDK v0.45 and the chain now includes Cosmwasm, which is a big deal as this offers almost limitless possibilities to add Smart Contract powered services! Well done to the team and huge gratitude to our validator frens for achieving this significant milestone! We will be sharing more news over coming weeks about the new capabilities and Web3 services that are being made possible by this chain upgrade. After a period of testing and integration with the other components of the stack, we will be moving to the Main-net upgrade.
ixo Mobile Apps
The ixo Impact Wallet for iOs and Android is almost ready for Alpha testing. There are still a few user journeys that we need to perfect and UI bugs to squash, but it is coming together nicely!
ixo Web Portal
Our current focus is to implement Wallet Connect for seamlessly integrating the Mobile Wallet, which will dramatically improve the user experience by offering easy logins and signing, with more of a Web 2.0 feel. Once implemented, the ixo KeySafe Chrome Browser extension will be deprecated. It has served us well over the years, but now its all about market adoption with great user experience!
EarthPort Developer Portal
JAMBO is what we are calling the low-code developer framework for building mobile dApps within the Cosmos ecosystem, using the popular JAMStack serverless architecture (Javascript, APIs, Markdown), which we are extending with Blockchain and Opera! We can’t wait to show what you are able to build, using cross-chain services, and deploy to millions of Opera mobile browser users. Watch this space, and as they say in East Africa Hakuna Matata!
