Sprint Update Week 33–2022

During our Twitter Spaces on Tuesday, we had Gjermund Garaba the CTO of EmpowerChain as our guest. EmpowerChain is a ReFi project also building on the Cosmos SDK, and envisions a world without plastic waste. Empower has won multiple noteworthy prizes and Shaun and Alwyn discussed with Gjermund how the Empower token is designed to not only remove plastic, but how to prevent it from getting there in the first place. The EmpowerChain accomplishes this through on-chain applications for deposit schemes, plastic credits, and the tracking of plastic, we highly encourage you to check out their project! Regarding product development, we have a short sprint update this week, as our developers focused on three core products that we’re excited to release soon.

Impact Portal (Web Application)

Web application platform for decentralised Impact Marketplaces and Impact Exchanges.

We’ve made great headway with the ixo Exchange feature and the branch had its first test feedback this sprint. Interacting with the feature in the web app enabled us to look at it from all angles and better understand how we can improve the flow. The coming sprint will allow us to tweak and adjust with another interaction at the end of our sprint next week.

Impact X Wallet

Mobile applications for iOS and Android.

We have an end-to-end flow in place, from logging in with mnemonics to selecting My Projects and submitting a claim against it. We are still resolving some of the tricky bits around interacting with the Web app in a clear way and making sure that the message flows to chain services are working correctly. Suffice to say, it was great being able to show one of our stakeholders this flow today!

The Developer Portal for the Internet of Impact

The fundamentals of building your own dApp using the Developer Portal are in place and this week we looked at how this realises in Github and Netlify. This is careful work that requires excellence to ensure absolute security and ease of use.
