Game Review: Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order
What I thought about my introduction to the soulslike genre
Let’s begin with a prescient quote from the Jedi Master himself.
“Once you start down the dark path, forever will it dominate your destiny.” -Yoda
Obviously, Master Yoda was foreshadowing the disturbing lack of quality Star Wars games in the 2010s. It all started when the Force Unleashed Sequel came out involving one of the worst final boss fights in the history of gaming.
That was actually depressing to rewatch.
The Force Unleashed games were the last two major Jedi and lightsaber-focused games. They had a God of War hack-and-slash appeal to them but my memory of their narrative sequences was either trite or laughably bad.
Force Unleashed 2, or in its ironic acronym form, FU2, left a bad taste in the mouth of Star Wars game development for quite a while. Star Wars ended up getting licensed to the evil empire, Electronic Arts.
