Are Robots of the Future Our Friends or Foes?

If the rise of robots is inevitable, then we do not want them as adversaries of sorts

Do we fear the rise of robots?

I think so, just like Middle Earth’s fear of the Orcs, Uruk-hais, and Nazguls. Fear presents itself before threats materialize. Of course, necessary preventive measures are put in place as a result of fearing the unknown.

It beats having the entire clan exterminated when the enemy becomes a force to be reckoned with.

We see that in the Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, and popular comics such as The Stormriders.

Fear speaks to our deep psyche and provokes uncertainty.

The nature of uncertainty points to a journey of finding out what that is, to ascertain whether they are genuine threats or possible friends.

No one knew for sure that Sauron has returned to Middle Earth until Gandalf made his way to Dol Guldor, confirming the fears of the White Council.

The rise of robots is inevitable. There is a cocktail of variables demanding their presence: -
