Francine Simon was born in 1990 in Durban to Indian Catholic parents. She recently completed her doctorate in English Studies at Stellenbosch University. Her poems have been published in South African literary journals such as New Coin and Aerodrome. She launched her debut collection of poetry, Thungachi, in 2017.
