One of the key hurdles to innovation in the music industry is the challenge faced when trying to get licensed music into your app when starting out.

The upfront time and resource required to hold numerous negotiations, combined with the need for extensive back office support, can stifle progress and development before the project gets going.

However, as far as we know, there hasn’t been a reliable quantitative assessment into the scale of this challenge. Until now.

We are working with Chris at Media Insight Consulting to survey the music tech community, from those who have launched, those who have tried and failed, to those who have an idea that hasn’t yet come to fruition, on the roadblocks that they have faced while building out their business.

So, if this sounds interesting, and you’ve been involved in the development of a music application or service, then we’d love to get your input.

We will use your views (anonymously) to create a public report on the findings, pushing forward the narrative on addressing these challenges.

Find the survey here, or hit me up to find out more details.
