Trump is Michael Scott, but not as nice

He is a renowned salesman. He is a terrible manager He provokes unnecessary crises with his erratic, infantile behavior and his constant need to be the center of attention. His vanity masks his deep insecurities.

I’m talking about Michael Scott, the Scratton branch manager at Dunder Mifflin.

I’m not the first to note the similarities between the main character of the The Office to the current occupant of the White House. One site noted the two share a habit of touting their superior intelligence, bragging about their generosity and making insensitive remarks about menstruation and disabilities. They have both declared bankruptcy, although Scott did so far more dramatically.

What’s sad, of course, is that there has been no evidence that Trump possesses any of Michael’s better qualities, notably his ocassional sense of humanity. Indeed, he addressed a key distinction between himself and the future president in the fifth episode of the second season:
