How to Create a Corporate Culture When Your Teams Are Remote

A couple of weeks ago, one of my listeners left a comment telling me that they were part of a remote team and wanted to know how do they fit in and become part of the corporate culture. This is a big challenge for a lot of companies around the world. First, we have to get real and understand that an employee in the office versus an employee working remotely is not the same thing. That’s part of the benefit of working from home and part of what you sacrifice. However that doesn’t mean you as a virtual employee are completely alone. There are, of course, some things that organizations can do, and that’s what I talk about in this episode of the Future In 5. I talk about five ideas that companies can implement to include their virtual employees and freelancers. The most important of my ideas is listening to your remote employees. Pay extra attention. Spend extra time on the people who are not physically in the office. Listen in to this episode to hear all of my ideas. Note, these are just five ideas your organization can do, but there are probably more. Do you have your own ideas on what organizations can do? Leave me a comment and let me know what you think!

This month’s content on the future of work was made possible by my friends at Work Market. Work Market is a freelance management system that brings freelancers and organizations together. As the freelancer economy continues to grow organizations are going to have to think differently about how they service, innovate, and compete in the future of work.
